Please reach out for further information on the artist, to arrange a studio visit or for sales enquiries. ~ Blinky Bellas multi-disciplinary practice manifests as ceramic stoneware, porcelain sculptures and acrylic paintings on silk onto which previous drawn diagrams of political and spiritual ideas have migrated as tender and playful marks. The optimistic and accessible diagrams from which the works stem contain ideas on societal healing and antidotes to our conditions under late capitalism. The sculptures are hand made using the ‘pinch pot’ method, humble in scale, the haptic and therapeutic nature of their construction, as well as the connection of the clay to the earth makes their creation meditative, primal and healing - in line with the ideas that underpin them. The forms become playfully malformed ornaments, symbolising antidotes, balms and salves to our current landscape.
